Inspired by the book “What We’ll Build” by Oliver Jeffers, I was commissioned by The Spark Arts to design and deliver a whole school arts residency for the wonderful Mayflower Primary School in Leicester. Across four days, I met each and every pupil from Year 1 up to Year 6. I led music, writing, arts, crafts and theatre activities to inspire, uplift and intrigue. This was the first interactive arts programme the children had experienced in real life, in a room other than their classrooms, since before the pandemic. It was a truly special and memorable week that brought troves of vibrant ideas, magical mind waves and an utterly heartwarming adventure.
